A laptop sleeve that converts into a soft desk mat, not only protecting electronic devices on the go but delineating your workspace wherever you go. Envisioned to resonate with the new ways of working and the evolution of the workplace - work from home, freelancers, co-working spaces, etc.
HOW IT WORKS
Nomad adapts to the user's work needs - through different configurations that allow them to create their space, whether this means extending as much as possible by using it as a mat or creating a semi-private space by bending the flaps and keeping their belongings close by.
DESIGN PROCESS
I prototyped with different materials and features, testing options to create a safe laptop sleeve from zippers, and elastic to envelop folds. For the surface material, I experimented with felt, synthetic leather and other suede-like fabrics.
